In-Service Education Centre
Social & Health Care College, Herning’s In-Service Education Centre offers a wide range of services at different levels, which help to develop the skills of students and employers.
The In-Service Education Centre offers short, targeted courses, longer upgrading courses, academy professional programmes, individual skills assessments, consultancy services, theme days etc.
Our team of consultants have broad professional competences within the teaching and planning of vocational training in the social and healthcare and education sectors. We make a point of offering courses with a practical orientation, which enable our students to put their new skills into practice immediately.
We tailor courses to match skills with the needs and wishes of employers.
We offer adult vocational training (AMU) in three key areas
- Care of the elderly, nursing and health at local authority level
- Social psychiatry and physical and mental disabilities
- Educational work with children and young people.
The target groups for AMU are mainly professional groups such as social and health care assistants, social and health care workers, teaching assistants, care workers etc.
The work of the In-Service Education Centre includes course marketing and outreach work to businesses which are typically care homes, local authority domiciliary care, day care centres, residential educational institutions and social drop-in centres. We plan and coordinate specific courses.
We conduct 50-70 short AMU courses a year.
The In-Service Education Centre is a member of a regional network with other vocational colleges which meet once a month at consultancy level. These include business, industrial and commercial colleges.
